Park Coastal provincial park with sandy beach and camping
On Vancouver Island’s west coast off Highway 14, French Beach provides a beachfront campground, rocky shore walks and sea‑watching across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
French Beach Provincial Park is a small coastal park on southern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, managed by BC Parks. It protects a stretch of shoreline facing the Strait of Juan de Fuca and provides camping and day-use beach access.
The park’s main attractions are a pebble-sand beach and a compact campground with direct beach access, plus picnic facilities and short walking routes along the shore. The coastal location makes it useful for tidepooling, beachcombing, and shore-based marine mammal and seabird watching.
The park is a provincial recreational and conservation site rather than a large wilderness park and is maintained by British Columbia Parks for day use and overnight camping.
