Frederiksberg Gardens is a large landscaped public park in the Frederiksberg district immediately west of central Copenhagen, originally laid out as the palace gardens for Frederiksberg Palace in the 18th century. It remains one of Copenhagen’s principal green spaces.
The gardens feature broad lawns, formal ponds and canals, tree-lined promenades and designed viewpoints that look toward the palace. Built elements include the palace itself and ornamental structures such as a Chinese-style summerhouse.
Historically the grounds were developed as a royal landscape and later adapted in the English-romantic style; today the park is used for walking, picnics and leisure activities and lies adjacent to Copenhagen Zoo and other urban attractions.
Frederiksberg Gardens sits within the Frederiksberg municipality, directly west of Copenhagen’s city centre, and is easily accessible from central Copenhagen by public transport and on foot.

From central Copenhagen (Rådhuspladsen) it’s a 20-30 minute walk or a short bike ride.
