Franklin Field

Franklin Field is a historic college stadium on the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia, known for its long continuous use for collegiate athletics and its role in American track and football history.

The original Franklin Field dates to the 1890s; the current concrete stadium structure was completed in the early 1920s and has been used continuously for college football and track events since then. It has hosted generations of university athletics and major track meets, remaining in regular use by the University of Pennsylvania.

The stadium sits on Penn’s campus in the University City area of Philadelphia, a short distance west of the Schuylkill River and about 2 miles from Center City Philadelphia.
