Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 each contain multiple concourses and dedicated facilities for check‑in, security and arrivals. The terminals are linked by the automated people mover (SkyLine) and shuttle buses; many transfer passengers change terminals en route to connecting flights. Passenger services such as lounges, shops and eateries are available in both terminals.

Frankfurt Airport is a major rail hub as well as an air hub; travel time to central Frankfurt by S‑Bahn is about 12-20 minutes, and ICE trains connect directly from the airport’s long‑distance station to other German cities.

• Rail/S‑Bahn/ICE: Frequent S‑Bahn services (S8/S9) link the airport to central Frankfurt in ~12-20 minutes; the Fernbahnhof serves long‑distance ICE and IC trains across Germany.
• Buses: Local buses serve the surrounding region; longer coach services operate to other cities.
• Taxis/Ride‑share: Metered taxis are available; a taxi to central Frankfurt usually takes 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
• Driving: The airport is close to the A3/A5 motorways; driving time to the city centre is typically 20-30 minutes.

Frankfurt offers extensive lounges (including multiple Lufthansa lounges), a wide retail and dining offer across terminals, free Wi‑Fi with registration in passenger areas, and plentiful charging points. Luggage storage exists at selected locations and full accessibility services are provided on request. Business and conference facilities are available in and near the terminals.
