Fountain Cavern National Park
National Park Coastal national park featuring sea caves and pools
Coastal park near Island Harbour with limestone caverns and short walking trails; visitors inspect sea caves and watch shoreline birdlife.
Fountain Cavern National Park is a small protected area on Island Harbour, Anguilla, preserving limestone cave formations and associated karst features. It is noted for accessible cave entrances and visible Amerindian petroglyphs.
The site offers short walks to cave mouths, sinkholes, and rock shelters where visitors can see carved motifs and natural limestone formations. Interpretation is limited on-site, so many visitors go with a guide or a local map to locate the main features.
The caverns and rock shelters bear evidence of pre-Columbian Amerindian use; the petroglyphs and occupation traces identify the area as part of the island’s Indigenous cultural landscape. The site has been set aside as a national park to protect both the archaeological features and the karst terrain.
The park sits on the eastern side of Anguilla near the village of Island Harbour, on the northeastern side of the island. It is a short drive from other settlements on Anguilla and is reached by island roads rather than major highways.
- Petroglyphs and caves: Contains visible Amerindian rock art and cave features that date to pre-Columbian occupation of the island.
- Visitor facilities: Small protected area with informal trails and karst features rather than large visitor facilities.
