Fort Edmonton Park

Fort Edmonton Park is a living history museum in Edmonton, Alberta, operated by the City of Edmonton. It interprets the region’s urban and fur-trade history through reconstructed buildings and period streets.

The park presents multiple era-specific streets and sites that chart Edmonton’s development from the mid 19th century into the early 20th century. Key on-site elements include reconstructed fort buildings, commercial streets with working shops, and heritage vehicles such as a steam train and streetcar that operate within the park.

The site was developed by the City of Edmonton as a purpose-built living-history attraction and opened to the public in stages in the later 20th century. Management and interpretation have focused on restoring or recreating buildings and demonstrating traditional trades and transportation.

The park is located within the City of Edmonton along the river valley area, on municipal parkland managed by the city and accessible from Edmonton’s road network.
