How to Get to Foča#
Foča is reached mainly by road: regional buses and private transfers from Sarajevo or Tuzla are the usual options. There is limited rail connectivity, so coaches and cars are the practical choices for most visitors.
Tuzla International Airport (TZL) / Sarajevo Airport (SJJ): Foča is within several hours’ drive of regional airports; the closest practical international options are Sarajevo (≈2.5-3.5 hours by road) and Tuzla (≈2-3 hours). From either airport you’ll typically continue by bus or prebooked transfer to Foča. Taxis from the airports are available but can be costly for the whole route.
Podgorica (TGD) / Mostar (OMO): Depending on connections, airports in neighbouring countries (Podgorica in Montenegro or Mostar in Bosnia & Herzegovina) can be used, but transfers are longer and may involve border crossings-plan accordingly.
Train: Foča does not have a major passenger rail hub-rail access in the region is limited. The most practical public transport option is by coach.
