Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum is a large Buddhist museum and cultural complex in Dashu District, Kaohsiung, established by the Fo Guang Shan monastic order. The complex combines exhibition spaces, ceremonial halls and landscaped plazas and functions as both a museum and a site for religious activities.

The museum presents Buddhist art, ritual objects and multimedia exhibits that interpret Mahayana Buddhist teachings and the history of the Fo Guang Shan movement. Architectural and sculptural elements emphasize symmetry and formal axial planning centered on the principal shrine areas.

The complex was developed by the Fo Guang Shan order, founded by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, as an institutional and cultural centre to promote Humanistic Buddhism and education. It opened to the public in the early 21st century and has since hosted exhibitions, rituals and international visitors.

The museum stands in Dashu District on the outskirts of Kaohsiung city in southern Taiwan, adjacent to the Fo Guang Shan monastic campus and accessible by road from central Kaohsiung.

By car it’s about a 25-35 km drive from central Kaohsiung into Dashu; local buses and occasional event shuttles also serve the site.
