Flakstadøya

Flakstadøya is an island in the Lofoten archipelago in Nordland, Norway, and forms part of the E10 coastal route through Lofoten. It is notable for its traditional fishing villages and dramatic coastal scenery.

Small beaches, jagged peaks and sheltered fjord inlets are the main draws; compact settlements such as Nusfjord and Ramberg provide access, local accommodation and photography opportunities. The island is used for scenic driving along the E10, shoreline walks, fishing and Northern Lights viewing in winter.

Settlement and maritime activities have shaped the island for centuries, with fishing and cod-related industries central to local development; many of the village quays and rorbuer reflect that cultural heritage.

Geographically it sits in the central Lofoten chain above the Arctic Circle, between Vestvågøy to the east and Moskenesøya to the west, with the E10 linking it to the rest of the archipelago.
