Feldberg (Black Forest)

Feldberg is the highest mountain in the Black Forest and in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, reaching 1,493 metres above sea level. It is the primary high point of the Southern Black Forest and a regional centre for mountain recreation.

Hikers and skiers use a network of trails and slopes on the Feldberg, with an observation area at the summit that provides extensive views over the forested ridges and, in good visibility, toward the Rhine valley. The nearby Feldsee is a small high-altitude lake often included on short walks from the summit area.

The Feldberg is a long-established natural landmark in the Black Forest and has been used for alpine tourism and winter sports since the late 19th and 20th centuries. Modern visitor infrastructure developed around the summit and slopes to support hiking, skiing and nature conservation.

The Feldberg massif lies in the Southern Black Forest near the town of Titisee-Neustadt in Baden-Württemberg, within the broader Southern Black Forest Nature Park and accessible by regional roads and trailheads.
