The Federal Territory Mosque (Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan) is a major modern mosque in Kuala Lumpur combining traditional Islamic motifs with local architectural forms. It was completed and opened in 2000 and serves the Federal Territory with facilities for large congregational prayers and events.

The mosque features a large central prayer hall beneath a prominent dome and is designed to accommodate thousands of worshippers for Friday prayers and festivals. It is used for regular religious services as well as community and educational activities.

Located within Kuala Lumpur’s Federal Territory near major road arteries, the mosque is accessible by car and public transport from central Kuala Lumpur.

• Opening date: Consecrated and opened in 2000, the mosque combines Malay and Middle Eastern architectural elements and includes a prominent central dome and minaret ensemble.
• Visitor information: Non-Muslim visitors are generally welcome outside prayer times; modest dress is required and shoes must be removed before entering prayer areas.
• Capacity: Prayer capacity is approximately 17,000 worshippers, making it one of the larger modern mosques in the Kuala Lumpur area.

The mosque is about 6 km north of KLCC. From KL Sentral take a taxi or a short Grab ride (10-20 minutes depending on traffic) or bus RapidKL route U32/SA02 toward Jalan Duta. Driving: follow Jalan Duta; there is a visitor entrance with limited parking. From nearby Putrajaya or Putra Heights, expect a 25-40 minute drive depending on traffic.

• Dress conservatively: women should bring a headscarf; there are usually loaner scarves at the entrance.
• Avoid the main prayer times (Friday midday) if visiting as a tourist; go mid-morning for photography and quieter courtyards.
• Enter through the visitor entrance on Jalan Duta and keep noise low-security will guide you to non-prayer areas.
• Look for the small museum display near the ablution area that explains the mosque's construction and stained-glass motifs.
