Euromus (also spelled Euromos) is an ancient Carian city in Muğla Province in southwestern Turkey, best known for its well-preserved classical temple. The site is archaeologically notable for the Temple of Zeus Lepsinos, which dates to the Roman Imperial period.
The dominant feature is the temple complex with a largely intact temple front and standing columns that illustrate classical Ionic architecture. Surrounding remains include an agora, a small theatre and traces of urban streets and walls that reflect Hellenistic and Roman occupation.
The city was occupied through the Hellenistic and Roman periods and continued to be used in later antiquity; the surviving monumental architecture dates mainly to the Roman era when the temple was rebuilt or remade. The site has been the subject of archaeological recording and preservation work in modern times.
Euromus sits inland in Muğla Province in southwestern Turkey, within the historic region of Caria. The archaeological site is reached from local rural roads and lies in the inland countryside of the Aegean coastal hinterland.
