Estádio dos Eucaliptos
Stadium Former Porto Alegre stadium, historic football venue
Estádio dos Eucaliptos was Porto Alegre’s principal ground for Sport Club Internacional before Beira‑Rio opened; it remains a reference point in the club’s history. Researchers and football historians consult its archives rather than active fixtures.
Estádio dos Eucaliptos was an early 20th-century football stadium in Porto Alegre, Brazil, known as the home of Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense during the club’s formative decades. It was constructed in the early 1930s and served as the club’s principal ground until mid-century.
The stadium was eventually superseded by a larger municipal venue and ceased to be the club’s main ground after the 1950s. It played a role in the development of organised football in Porto Alegre during its period of use.
Located in Porto Alegre in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the site was within the city’s sporting quarter and close to other urban amenities.
- Historical use: Former home ground of Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense and replaced by a larger stadium in the 1950s.
