Estádio Beira-Rio Stadium

Estádio Beira-Rio is a major football stadium in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil, and the home ground of Sport Club Internacional. It is a riverfront stadium on the Guaíba with seating and facilities upgraded during a major renovation ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The venue hosts domestic league matches, national cups and occasional international fixtures, and is part of a larger sports complex that includes an indoor arena. Renovations modernized seating, circulation and support facilities while retaining the stadium’s riverside presence.

Originally opened in the late 1960s, the stadium has been an important sporting and social venue for Porto Alegre and the surrounding Rio Grande do Sul state for decades.

It stands on the eastern bank of the Guaíba River within Porto Alegre’s urban fabric and remains one of the city’s principal sporting landmarks.
