Estació del Nord (Barcelona)

Estació del Nord is Barcelona’s principal intercity coach station, located in the Eixample/ Ciutat Vella edge near the Arc de Triomf. The facility occupies the former railway terminus building and serves regional and international bus services.

Inside, passengers find multiple coach platforms, ticket counters, and connections to local public transport; the preserved station facade and parts of the original structure are visible from the exterior. The station is a hub for buses running to other Spanish cities and for many airport and long-distance coach routes.

The site began life as a railway terminus; passenger rail services ceased and the building was repurposed to serve coach traffic while retaining elements of the historic station architecture. The transformation preserved the terminal’s exterior and adapted the interior for modern passenger flows.

The station sits a short walk from the Arc de Triomf promenade and Parc de la Ciutadella in central Barcelona, Catalonia. It is within easy reach of the city centre and the nearest metro and commuter rail stops.
