Episcopal Palace, Astorga Monument

The Episcopal Palace of Astorga is a late 19th- to early 20th-century palace in Astorga, Castile and León, designed by Antoni Gaudí for the town’s bishop. The building combines neo-Gothic and medieval-inspired forms and is notable as one of Gaudí’s few projects outside Catalonia.

The palace is a castle-like stone structure with towers, a richly detailed façade and an interior adapted for museum use. It now houses the Museo de los Caminos, which presents collections connected to the pilgrimage routes and local ecclesiastical art.

The palace stands within the urban centre of Astorga in northwestern Spain, a historic town on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.
