Elsecar Heritage Centre

Elsecar Heritage Centre is a heritage attraction in the village of Elsecar in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. It occupies a compact group of former estate-owned industrial buildings associated with the Fitzwilliam estate.

The site houses converted workshops and galleries, independent shops and cafés, museum displays interpreting local coal and ironworking industries, and a short heritage railway and display area. Most visitor facilities are set within restored brick industrial buildings and small courtyards.

Buildings on the site were constructed by and for the Fitzwilliam estate from the late 18th century through the 19th century to service local collieries and ironworks. Industrial operations declined in the 20th century and the complex was later repurposed as a heritage centre and visitor attraction.

The centre sits in the village of Elsecar in the Dearne Valley, within the metropolitan borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, and is served by local roads linking to nearby Barnsley and other towns in the region.
