Eifel National Park is a protected area of woodland, streams and upland habitats in the Eifel region of western Germany, established in 2004 to conserve native forest ecosystems and biodiversity. The park covers roughly 110 square kilometres and emphasizes natural processes and forest regeneration.

Trails and observation points allow visitors to explore beech and mixed forests, wetlands and valley landscapes. The park is known for managed rewilding projects, varied flora and fauna, and for offering multi-day hikes and shorter walks suited to differing abilities.

The park lies in the Eifel hills in North Rhine-Westphalia near the border with Rhineland-Palatinate and Belgium, with nearby towns including Monschau to the west and the Rur reservoir area to the south. Access is by regional roads from cities such as Aachen and Bonn.

There are several visitor centres and marked car parks (for example around Vogelsang and Rurberg) where you can start walks; regional trains to towns on the park’s edge (e.g., Düren/Kall) and connecting local buses also provide access to some trailheads.

• Start at one of the park's Nationalpark-Tore (visitor centres) to pick up current trail maps, seasonal route advice and wildlife-sighting updates before setting off - they're the best place to orient yourself.
• For fewer people and better wildlife viewing, choose shoulder seasons (spring for wildflowers, autumn for foliage) and weekday hikes; weekends and summer holidays bring the most visitors, especially to the main loop trails.
• Explore lesser-used trails away from the main picnic areas if you want quieter sections of primeval beech-oak forest and a better chance to spot shy wildlife; visitor centres can recommend quieter routes.
