Tips for Visiting Eifel National Park #
- Start at one of the park's Nationalpark-Tore (visitor centres) to pick up current trail maps, seasonal route advice and wildlife-sighting updates before setting off - they're the best place to orient yourself.
- For fewer people and better wildlife viewing, choose shoulder seasons (spring for wildflowers, autumn for foliage) and weekday hikes; weekends and summer holidays bring the most visitors, especially to the main loop trails.
- Explore lesser-used trails away from the main picnic areas if you want quieter sections of primeval beech-oak forest and a better chance to spot shy wildlife; visitor centres can recommend quieter routes.
