Dunollie Castle

Dunollie Castle is a ruined medieval stronghold on a coastal headland near Oban on Scotland’s west coast, historically associated with Clan MacDougall. The site comprises stone ruins on a rocky promontory and a small museum that interprets local clan history and archaeology.

Visitors encounter ruined masonry, short walks around the headland and viewpoints over the surrounding seascape, together with interpretive displays in the museum. The museum and historic centre present artefacts and information about the castle’s occupants and the wider local past.
