Duffy Square

Duffy Square is the name given to the northern triangle of Times Square in Manhattan, New York City, notable for its pedestrian plaza, a memorial statue, and the TKTS ticket booth. It forms the northern gateway to the broader Times Square entertainment district.

The area has evolved with Times Square’s development as a theater and entertainment hub through the 20th century; the Duffy memorial was installed to honor Father Duffy, a prominent World War I chaplain and community figure. The TKTS booth was introduced to centralize discount ticket sales for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.

Occupying the triangular block formed by Broadway, Seventh Avenue, and 47th Street, Duffy Square sits at the northern end of Times Square in Midtown Manhattan, a short walk from major subway lines and just east of the Theater District.
