Dolsando (often called Dolsan Island) is an island in South Jeolla Province, off the southern coast of South Korea, administratively part of the Yeosu area. The island is a local centre for coastal scenery and harbor activity.

The island offers seaside parks, promenades, small fishing ports and viewpoints overlooking Yeosu harbour and the surrounding sea. A prominent illuminated bridge links the island with the Yeosu mainland and is a popular spot for evening views and short excursions.

Historically a fishing and maritime community, the island has developed tourism and recreational facilities linked to Yeosu’s growth as a coastal city. Infrastructure improvements over recent decades increased day-trip visitation.

Situated off the southern Korean peninsula near the city of Yeosu, the island is part of South Jeolla Province and lies within short driving distance from Yeosu urban areas via the connecting bridge.

  • Main access: Connected to the city of Yeosu by a bridge that provides the principal road access and is a focal point for evening views and local tourism.

What to See #

  • Dolsan Bridge: A major vehicular and pedestrian link between the island and the Yeosu mainland, notable for its night illumination and views over the harbour.
  • Dolsan Park: A seaside green space and viewpoint area on the island offering coastal promenades, terraces and lookout points over the surrounding sea.
