Dokos is a small, uninhabited island in the Saronic Gulf of Greece, located near larger islands of the Argolic/Saronic cluster. The island is rocky and sparsely vegetated, with limited modern infrastructure.
Dokos is widely known in archaeological circles because of an early Bronze Age shipwreck found offshore that contained ceramic cargo; the wreck is dated to the Early Helladic period and is among the earliest shipwrecks documented in the Aegean.
The island itself has little modern settlement and is visited mainly by private boats and researchers. The maritime environs include shallow reefs and traditional sailing routes between the Peloponnese and the Saronic islands.
