Didcot Railway Centre is a railway preservation museum and operational depot in Didcot, Oxfordshire, focused on the heritage of the Great Western Railway. The site preserves locomotives, carriages and signaling equipment and operates public event days and demonstrations.
Visitors can view a large collection of steam and diesel locomotives, historic carriages, and restored GWR-era buildings and workshops. The centre offers guided tours, interactive displays and running demonstrations on event days that show restoration work and locomotive movements. On-site volunteers maintain and restore equipment in the workshops, and the yard provides photographic and interpretive opportunities.
The site developed around the former Great Western Railway depot at Didcot; preservation activity began in the late 20th century with volunteers and the Great Western Society establishing museum facilities and moving historic stock to the location. Over time the centre expanded its restoration workshops and public programme.
The centre is sited beside Didcot Parkway railway station in the town of Didcot, south of Oxford and within easy train reach from London and regional rail services.
