The Dharmarajika Stupa is an ancient Buddhist stupa complex located at the archaeological site of Taxila in what is now the Islamabad Capital Territory of Pakistan. It originated in the early historic period and forms one of the major Buddhist monuments in the Taxila group.
The complex includes a large central stupa with multiple smaller votive stupas and the remains of monastic buildings clustered around it. The arrangement reflects a religious center used for worship and monastic activity and yields pottery, inscriptions and stonework typical of South Asian Buddhist sites.
Archaeological evidence links the foundation of the stupa to the Mauryan period in the 3rd century BCE, and the monument was enlarged and reworked in later centuries. Extensive excavations were carried out by early 20th-century archaeologists as part of systematic work on the Taxila site, revealing structural phases and associated finds.
