Dhamtari is most commonly reached via Raipur - Swami Vivekananda Airport (RPR) and Raipur Junction are the main access points. From Raipur you continue by bus, taxi or shared van into town (road travel is the normal final leg).

Local bus/coaching options from Raipur city (near the airport) to Dhamtari run regularly; fares are roughly ₹50-150 and take about 2-2.5 hours.
Train: The nearest major rail hub is Raipur Junction (R). Long‑distance trains from across India arrive at Raipur; there is no regular broad‑gauge intercity train service directly into Dhamtari, so most travellers alight at Raipur and continue by road. From Raipur Junction a taxi or bus to Dhamtari takes around 1.5-2.5 hours (see road/bus fares above).
