Delftse Hout is a municipal recreation area on the eastern edge of Delft in South Holland, consisting of a lake, green open spaces and facilities for leisure and watersports. It functions as a local day-use park rather than a formal nature reserve.
Facilities include walking and cycling paths, small beaches, picnic areas and locations for canoeing and fishing around the lake. The area is commonly used for family recreation, sport and seasonal events.

How to Get to Delftse Hout #
Delftse Hout is a recreational area just east of Delft city centre. It’s a short cycle or car ride (about 5-10 minutes, a few kilometres) from Delft; approach by car via the A13 and local roads, with parking available. Local buses from Delft station serve the area and the walk from the nearest stop to the main lake/park facilities is typically 5-15 minutes.

- Visit early on weekdays or in the late afternoon to avoid local weekend crowds; the area is commonly reached by bike from Delft station in around 20-30 minutes, making it an easy active half-day trip from the city.
- Head to the lakeside paths and viewpoints first-many visitors stick to the main picnic and beach areas and miss quieter walking trails and birdwatching spots a short distance away.
- If you want to escape the busiest weekend groups, follow the longer perimeter trails rather than the short routes from the main car park to find more solitude and varied scenery.
