Děvín is the highest limestone hill of the Pálava Hills in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, rising to about 549 metres above sea level. It is a prominent natural landmark within the Pálava Protected Landscape Area.
Trails lead to the summit where there are open viewpoints over the surrounding vineyards, the Dyje river valley and wetland areas. The hill is a popular short hike for local visitors and offers clear panoramas on good weather days.
The site shows traces of prehistoric settlement and has been used by people for many centuries, making it an area of both natural and archaeological interest. It has long-standing significance in local landscape use, including viticulture on its lower slopes.
Děvín sits near the villages and vineyards of the Pálava region in South Moravia, close to the Dyje (Thaya) river and within the protected Pálava hills near the town of Mikulov.

How to Get to Děvín #
Děvín is a short drive from the town of Mikulov and near Pavlov. From Brno, take regional buses toward Mikulov and then local transport or taxi to the Děvín/Pavlov area. The castle is accessible by footpaths from nearby parking areas.
