Cumalıkızık

Cumalıkızık is a well-preserved Ottoman-era village in Bursa Province, Turkey, noted for its historic rural architecture and village layout. It is part of a UNESCO World Heritage designation recognising early Ottoman urban and rural settlements.

The village presents narrow, irregular lanes lined with traditional timber-framed and stone houses that form a compact historic core. Tourists commonly walk the lanes to view courtyard layouts, wooden façades and local crafts; small guesthouses and shops occupy some restored buildings.

Founded during the early Ottoman expansion, the village retained a rural settlement pattern and many vernacular buildings from later centuries. Its conservation and UNESCO recognition reflect its importance as an example of early Ottoman domestic and village architecture.

Cumalıkızık sits on the eastern approaches to the city of Bursa in northwestern Turkey, approximately 10-15 km from central Bursa, at the foot of the Uludağ foothills.
