How to Get to Cristo Redentor #
Most visitors reach the summit via the official cog railway (Trem do Corcovado) departing Cosme Velho, or via authorised vans that load at Paineiras. From Copacabana or Ipanema a taxi to Cosme Velho is 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. The train and vans sell timed tickets; book online through the Corcovado website to guarantee a slot.

- Buy train or official van tickets in advance (especially weekends and holidays) - the cog train from Cosme Velho sells out.
