Cotuí is reached primarily by road from the islands' main airports in Santo Domingo or Santiago. There is no passenger rail access-expect to use buses, shared vans or private transfers from the larger transport hubs.
Cibao International Airport (STI): Cibao (Santiago) is the closest major airport for Cotuí for many visitors arriving from other parts of the Dominican Republic. By road it’s typically around 1-2 hours depending on traffic; taxis or private transfers cost roughly RD$2,000-3,500 (≈US$35-65).
Las Américas International Airport (SDQ): For arrivals from Santo Domingo or international flights that land in the capital, Las Américas is the main gateway. Road travel to Cotuí takes about 1.5-2.5 hours by car; expect taxi or private-transfer fares from RD$2,500 upward (≈US$45+).
Train: There is no regular intercity passenger rail service that serves Cotuí-rail is not a practical option.
