Coronado National Memorial is a protected area in southeastern Arizona that commemorates the 1540-1542 expedition of Francisco Vázquez de Coronado and interprets the borderland landscapes of the region. The site features trails, overlooks and interpretive exhibits focused on exploration history and natural features.

Visitors use short hikes and a scenic drive to reach viewpoints that look southward into Sonora, Mexico, and to explore desert and mountain habitats in the Coronado National Memorial. Educational materials address the expedition’s routes, indigenous cultural landscapes and the ecology of the Huachuca Mountains.

The memorial was established to preserve both the historical memory of early Spanish exploration and representative examples of the borderland environment, and it provides ranger programs and trail information for responsible visitation.
