About Coney Island, Singapore#

Pulau Serangoon, commonly called Coney Island, is a small island off the northeastern coast of Singapore managed as a nature park. It was opened to the public as a managed park and is intended to conserve coastal habitats while providing walking and cycling routes.

The island features littoral forest, mangroves, sea-facing sandy edges and open grassy plains with a network of simple trails for walking and cycling. Facilities are basic compared with urban parks, and the island is visited for short recreational trips, birdwatching and coastal scenery.

The island’s recent development as a nature park focused on low-impact access and habitat protection rather than intensive recreation infrastructure. Visitor arrival is via a pedestrian link from the Punggol mainland and parking and public-transport connections are on the Punggol side.

Pulau Serangoon sits off Singapore’s northeastern coast between the Punggol mainland and offshore islets, with the main access point at Punggol Point.

Management and access: Managed as a nature park by Singapore’s National Parks Board, it was opened for public access in 2015 and is maintained for passive recreation and habitat conservation.
Habitats and access: Contains a mix of coastal forest, mangrove and open grassland habitats that support shorebirds and small mammals; the island is connected to the mainland by a pedestrian bridge at Punggol Point.

How to Get to Coney Island, Singapore#

Walk or cycle along the Punggol Promenade and use the Coney Island Park Connector from Punggol Point Park; the nearest MRT is Punggol (NE16/PW4), then follow signposted park connectors. A short bridge links the mainland to the island; no boats are necessary.
