Colchester Castle

Colchester Castle is a Norman stone keep in Colchester, Essex, built in the late 11th century and sited over Roman temple foundations. The structure is a prominent medieval monument in the town centre and now serves as a museum.

The castle’s massive rectangular keep, visible from the surrounding park, is the principal attraction and contains museum galleries that display local archaeology and history.
