How to Get to Codrington, Barbuda
Codrington (Barbuda) is reached either by a short domestic flight into Codrington Airport (BBQ) from Antigua or by ferry from St. John's on Antigua (after arriving at V.C. Bird International, ANU). There are no trains; local travel is by taxi, boat or on foot.
Codrington Airport (Barbuda) (BBQ): Codrington has a small airstrip (BBQ) with short domestic flights from Antigua (VC Bird, ANU) when services operate; the flight is brief (around 10-15 minutes). From the airstrip a short local taxi or walk will get you into Codrington village.
V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU): International flights arrive at Antigua’s V.C. Bird International Airport in St. John’s (ANU); from there you can connect to Barbuda by a short domestic flight or by ferry.
Train: There is no rail service on Barbuda.
Ferry / Boat: Regular or semi-regular ferries and passenger boats operate between Antigua (St. John’s / St. George’s Harbour) and Barbuda’s Codrington pier - crossings usually take about 1.25-2 hours depending on the vessel and sea conditions. Upon arrival in Codrington, local taxis and walking connect you to accommodations and beaches.
How to Get Around Codrington, Barbuda #
Codrington is extremely small and very walkable - most services, guesthouses and the beach are within easy walking distance. There are no regular public buses; transport between the airport, docks and town is usually by private transfer or taxi arranged in advance.
