From VER you can take a taxi or private transfer to Coatepec (approximately 45-75 minutes depending on traffic) - expect roughly 700-1,200 MXN for a direct taxi/transfer. Alternatively, take a short taxi (or airport shuttle) into Veracruz city to the Central de Autobuses de Veracruz and catch an intercity bus to Xalapa (see bus card); bus plus local connection to Coatepec typically takes 1.5-2 hours total and costs around 120-180 MXN for the intercity leg.
