Cleveland Cultural Gardens

The Cleveland Cultural Gardens are a collection of landscaped gardens in Rockefeller Park in Cleveland, each dedicated to a different national, ethnic or cultural group represented in the city. The gardens combine commemorative monuments, formal plantings and sculptural elements to express community heritage.

Walkways link the individual gardens, which include planted terraces, fountains, statuary and plaques installed by sponsoring organizations. The arrangement creates a linear cultural landscape that functions as both a memorial and a public greenway.

The project was initiated in the early 20th century as a civic effort to celebrate immigrant communities and has expanded over decades with new gardens added by local groups. Each garden reflects the artistic and horticultural input of its sponsoring community.

The gardens extend along Rockefeller Park beside Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and the east-west parkway in Cleveland, forming a continuous cultural and recreational corridor within the city.
