The falls lie in a remote part of Lualaba Province. Access is by 4x4 from Kolwezi - roughly a 2-4 hour drive on unpaved roads depending on season - followed by a foot trek of 45-90 minutes along informal trails. Local village guides are essential; arrange transport and a guide in Kolwezi or Lubumbashi. River approach is possible during high water but requires a canoe and experienced boatmen.
