Chornohora forms Ukraine’s highest mountain ridge, home to peaks such as Hoverla. Hikers and backpackers use marked routes, mountain huts and ridgeline trails for multi-day treks and alpine views.
Chornohora is the highest mountain range of the Ukrainian Carpathians, forming a compact high ridge with multiple summits above 2,000 metres. It contains Ukraine’s highest point, Hoverla (2,061 metres), and several other prominent peaks such as Brebeneskul.
The ridge is popular with hikers for its continuous high-altitude trails, alpine meadows and panoramic views. Trails range from day-hike routes to longer multi-day traverses that follow the main crest.
