How to Get to Cholula, Puebla

Cholula is easiest reached via Puebla International Airport (Hermanos Serdán - PBC) or by bus from Mexico City into Puebla's main bus terminal (CAPU), then a short onward trip to Cholula. There is no intercity passenger rail to Cholula, so most visitors arrive by air, intercity bus, car or ride-hail.

By Air

Puebla International Airport (Hermanos Serdán) (PBC): The closest airport to Cholula, located near Huejotzingo about 25-30 km northeast of Cholula. From PBC the usual options are authorized airport taxis or private transfers (typical fare about MXN 300-500; travel time around 30-45 minutes depending on traffic) and car rentals available at the terminal. There is no regular public shuttle directly to Cholula, so plan on a taxi/transfer or renting a car.

Mexico City - Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX): A larger international hub ~100-140 km from Cholula. Most travelers transfer to Puebla by intercity bus or private transfer: buses from Mexico City to Puebla (see CAPU below) take about 2-3 hours and cost roughly MXN 150-400 depending on carrier and class; a private taxi/ride-hail directly from MEX to Cholula is possible but expensive (commonly MXN 1,200-2,500) and takes about 2-3 hours depending on traffic.
