Chęciny Castle Castle

Chęciny Castle is a medieval ruin located above the town of Chęciny in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship of south-central Poland. It is a prominent hilltop stronghold whose remains are a local historic landmark.

Stone ruins including curtain walls and two principal towers that are accessible to visitors and offer panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the town below. The site is a compact medieval fortress whose ruins are interpreted for the public.

Founded in the medieval period, the castle served as a royal and military stronghold at various times in Polish history before falling into decline and ruin in later centuries. The surviving fabric reflects multiple construction phases from the Middle Ages.

Sited on a limestone hill immediately above the town of Chęciny, the castle lies in the Świętokrzyskie region southwest of the city of Kielce and is reached via local roads from the town center.
