Château de Langoiran is a medieval castle ruin in the Gironde department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, located above the Garonne valley. The site is notable for its hilltop position and surviving medieval masonry.
Visitors encounter a compact keep and the remains of curtain walls and towers set on a wooded hill above the river plain. The exposed position gives panoramic views over the Garonne and the surrounding vineyards and countryside.
The castle originated in the medieval period as the seat of the local lords and was altered in later medieval centuries. Its strategic hilltop site controlled movements along the river and the surrounding territory during the Middle Ages.
The ruins lie in the commune of Langoiran, east of Bordeaux in Gironde, overlooking the Garonne valley and reachable by local roads from Bordeaux and nearby towns.
