Château de la Muette

Château de la Muette is an estate in the western part of Paris (16th arrondissement) whose name has been applied to successive buildings and a historic hunting-lodge site. The present complex on the site dates from the early 20th century and is best known today as the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The site has a long history as a royal hunting lodge from the early modern period and has been rebuilt several times; the modern building complex hosts international conferences and the OECD’s administrative functions. While the name recalls earlier royal and aristocratic structures, the location functions primarily as an institutional campus in contemporary Paris.

It sits on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne in western Paris, near the La Muette metro station and other western Paris neighbourhoods.
