Červený Kameň Castle

Červený Kameň Castle is a medieval hilltop castle in western Slovakia in the Little Carpathians, noted for its preserved defensive structures and later-period aristocratic interiors. It originated in the medieval period and survives as a prominent regional historic site.

The castle began as a 13th-century stone fortress and was rebuilt and remodelled during the 16th and 17th centuries as its military role declined and its owners converted it into a noble residence. Ownership passed through prominent regional families and the castle’s interiors and collections reflect those phases of conversion from fortress to stately home.

It sits in the Little Carpathians near the village of Častá in the Bratislava Region of Slovakia, surrounded by forested hills and rural landscape.
