Cerro Potosí Mountain

Cerro Potosí is the highest mountain in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, rising to roughly 3,700 metres and forming a prominent summit in the Sierra Madre Oriental.

Trails lead to high‑altitude pine and fir‑dominated slopes and ultimately to open rocky summit areas that offer broad views of the surrounding ranges; the mountain supports distinct montane flora compared with lower surrounding terrain.

The peak has long been recognised as a regional landmark and has been used for scientific plant surveys and recreational mountaineering in Nuevo León.

Cerro Potosí is located in the Sierra Madre Oriental within Nuevo León, in the inland highlands of northeastern Mexico.
