How to Get to Černé jezero #
Černé jezero (the Black Lake) is in the Šumava (Bohemian Forest) near the town of Železná Ruda. The usual approach is by car to Železná Ruda / Špičák (regional roads from Klatovy or from the German border) and then on foot via marked hiking trails: from the Železná Ruda / Špičák parking areas the trail to the lake is a short hike of roughly 1-2 km on well-marked paths. Trains and local buses serve Železná Ruda, from which the lake is reached on foot or by a short local transfer.

The best time to visit Černé jezero is summer for easy access and hiking; autumn is good for quieter visits and winter brings snow and ice.
