How to Get to Cecchina
Cecchina (Albano Laziale area) is accessed via Rome's two airports - Fiumicino (FCO) and Ciampino (CIA) - with onward connections by regional rail (FL4) or Cotral buses. The most efficient route is Leonardo Express or airport bus into Rome then a regional train/bus south to Albano/Cecchina.
Rome-Fiumicino (FCO): Fiumicino is Rome’s main international airport. The Leonardo Express train runs Fiumicino-Roma Termini in ~32 minutes for €14; from Termini you can take regional trains or the FL4 Rome suburban line toward Albano/Frascati and then local buses to reach Cecchina (total additional travel ~40-60 minutes, regional fares ~€1.50-€3). Taxis from Fiumicino to Cecchina take about 35-50 minutes depending on traffic.
Rome-Ciampino (CIA): Ciampino is closer for some low-cost carriers. From Ciampino you can take the Terravision/SITBus lines or local buses into Rome (Termini or Anagnina) in about 30-40 minutes (fares ~€4-€6), then continue by regional train or bus to Cecchina as above. Local taxis offer direct transfers in ~30-40 minutes.
Train: The FL4 suburban/regional line links Rome (via Roma Termini or other city stops) with Albano Laziale and nearby towns; Albano/Pavona are the usual rail hubs for the Cecchina area. Regional train fares inside Lazio are low (typically around €1.50-€3) and travel from Termini to Albano is under an hour.
Bus: Local Cotral buses and municipal routes connect Albano Laziale, Cecchina and surrounding castelli. Buses are inexpensive (single fares around €1.50-€2) and operate frequently during the day; check timetables for early-morning or late-evening services.
