By Air

Simón Bolívar International Airport / Maiquetía (CCS): Catia La Mar is adjacent to Maiquetía, so Caracas’s main international airport (CCS) is the closest gateway. From CCS to Catia La Mar it’s a short drive (10-20 minutes) - taxis or private transfers are common and fares typically vary based on negotiated rates; airport shuttles and local buses also serve the route.

Caracas national flights: Domestic flights to Caracas arrive at the same airport; once landed most visitors reach Catia La Mar quickly by taxi or public bus along the coastal highway (Autopista Caracas-La Guaira).

By Train & Bus

Train: Venezuela’s regional rail network does not provide a metro/regional rail link into Catia La Mar from Caracas; the main options are road-based. Efforts and plans for rail improvements have existed, but road travel remains the primary mode.

Bus: Public buses and colectivos run frequently along the Carayaca-La Guaira-Caracas corridor and stop in Catia La Mar. Bus fares are inexpensive (small bolívar amounts) and travel time from central Caracas is typically 20-60 minutes depending on traffic and origin point.
