How to Get to Castle Bruce
Castle Bruce is a small east‑coast village reachable by road from Dominica's two airports: Douglas‑Charles (DOM) to the north and Canefield (DCF) near Roseau to the south. Expect to arrive by taxi or public minibus; there are no rail links on the island.
Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM): The island’s larger airport, on the northeast coast near Marigot, is the closest commercial airport for Castle Bruce. Taxi rides from DOM to Castle Bruce are typically about 20-35 minutes; expect roughly XCD 30-60 for a private taxi. There are occasional shared vans/minibuses running along the east coast from Marigot/Roseau that take 30-60 minutes and cost roughly XCD 4-12.
Canefield Airport (DCF): Canefield is a small airport serving Roseau and is further south from Castle Bruce. A taxi from Canefield to Castle Bruce takes around 60-90 minutes by road and will usually cost XCD 60-100; public minibuses require a transfer in Roseau and take longer.
