Carpenters’ Hall is an 18th-century meeting hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, built by the Carpenters’ Company. It is notable for hosting the First Continental Congress in 1774.
The building contains the original main meeting room used by delegates and preserves 18th-century interior character and furnishings. It is interpreted as a historic site in the city’s Independence National Historical Park area and is observed for its role in early American political history.
The hall was constructed by the local Carpenters’ Company for professional and civic meetings and later accommodated important colonial assemblies. Its use for the 1774 Congress is the primary reason for its national historic significance.
